PENSACOLA, Fla. (Aug. 31, 2018) – Event registration is now open for the ninth annual Bras Across the Bridge, presented by Baptist Health Care Foundation and Pensacola Honda along with partners The Grand Marlin Restaurant & Oyster Bar, Soft Rock 94.1, Magic 106.1, Nash 102.7 and WEAR ABC3 - WFGX 35.

Registration is $20 per person plus the donation of a new bra. The first 300 participants will receive a pink T-shirt. Attendees may also choose to honor a loved one on a banner to be displayed at the event.  One hundred percent of funds raised will benefit the Baptist Health Care Foundation’s Mammogram Fund, which funds mammograms to women in our community who qualify, as well as raises awareness and support for early detection. The bras will be donated to local organizations that help women and girls in need.

Since the beginning of this program, free screenings have been provided to 2,006 women. As a result of these screenings, 391 women required additional testing, 47 required biopsies and 18 were diagnosed with breast cancer.

Event check-in will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 in the parking lot of The Grand Marlin on Pensacola Beach. At 9 a.m., breast cancer survivors, their loved ones and the community are invited to join together and make their way across the Bob Sikes Bridge with bras strung together as a show of awareness and support in the fight against breast cancer.

Join us after the event for the Bras Across the Bridge after-party at The Grand Marlin from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The celebration will include a silent auction, live music, activities and drink specials.
